TNR 2018-4

Tuesday Night Ride

January 23, 2018

6:15 pm Start Time

Leaving from DQ on Caribou St W between 4th and 5th Avenue.

Continuing mild temperatures means tonight’s ride will feature the unexpected.

Snow or no snow? Ice or no ice? Puddles or no puddles? Falling down or no falling down?

The best advice I can give for these conditions is to invest in a studded winter tire for your front wheel.

Or even better yet, get a pair of tires.

Tires studded with stainless steel can be purchased for as low as $25.

More studs, and studs made of tungsten-carbide can increase the price dramatically, as high as $200/tire, even more if its for a fat bike.

More studs = more grip, especially when cornering.

Fancier studs = slower wear on pavement.

On my winter bike with studded tires, I do not fall down. And……..I can drift.

See you at DQ,

Bob
