Buffalo Pounder – Update (August 19)

Early registration closed last night and 80 people have registered for the race on Sunday.  If you missed out on registration don’t worry you can register at the race on Sunday morning.  The walk up registration cost is $70 (please bring exact cash).  A few additional meals are available for Sunday but priority will be given to walk up registration.  If you need an extra meal the cost is $25 and please email me (email address) and we can make arrangements.  We cannot be actively selling food in the park on race day.  If you need to purchase a single day race license you will be able to do this at the sign-on.  The schedule for race day is as follows:

8:00 – 9:00 AM: Sign-on
9:45 AM: Race Staging
10:00 AM: Race Starts
12:00 (or sooner): Post-race meal, awards and prizes.

As of tonight (Friday night) the course is still wet from the recent rain.  Sheltered trails on the course such as Roots and 1/4 Mile are pretty greasy.  The weather forecast for Saturday is sunny so by early afternoon the course will be marked.  Marking will be happening Saturday morning so if you are out riding please watch for us.  Once marking is complete we will post on the Pavers facebook page and provide an indication of course conditions.

Sunday morning the Park entry gate will be staffed and everyone without a seasonal pass will need to obtain a day pass ($8).  Please allow enough time for park entry.  Parking will be at the lower chalet day use area.  The course goes across the dry (?) creek crossing at the north end so 2-3 spots will be blocked off for the race.

Sunday is going to be an awesome day of racing at the Pound!

See you there!

Rob, Matt, and Jocelyn
