Tuesday Night Ride
July 5, 2016
6:15 pm Start Time
Leaving from DQ on Caribou St W between 4th and 5th Avenue.
As attendance has been poor (only 2 riders in 5 rides), it is time to dispel some myths about TNR.
Myth #1 – My bike isn’t good enough.
ANY vehicle with two wheels in tandem, usually propelled by pedals connected to the rear wheel by a chain, and having handlebars for steering and a saddlelike seat will be capable of completing the ride.
Myth #2 – I won’t be able to keep up.
This is a GROUP ride, and no one gets left behind. The ride stops at key locations to re-group, and does not proceed until the LAST rider has had a chance to rest.
Myth #3 – The river valley is full of predators that want to eat me.
Maybe……….ride faster, and try not to wear a scent that makes you smell like cougar food.
Myth #4 – I haven’t been on a bike since there was a Trudeau in office.
Guess what, you never forget how to ride a bike, its true! And there is a Trudeau in office again, so……..
Myth #5 – Nature is unforgiving, I might sweat and bleed.
Ummmmmm, yeah…..that one is True.
Put a lid on your head.
Bring something to drink.
Apply insect repellant.
See you on the trails,
Bob
