Hello fellow Moose Jaw Pavers:

I wanted to take a moment to update everyone on the plans for the upcoming Spring/Summer.  By now everyone has seen the newly designed club clothing for 2016.  The club executive has been fully involved in the plans to ensure we have a great summer cycling planned.  As a central theme we would like to focus on having high quality club activities.  The popular regular road rides and Tour du’ Moose Jaw are definitely continuing.  As a club we are closely involved with the trails at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park and it is only natural that we have a regular club ride there.  New for 2016, a Sunday morning club mountain bike ride at Buffalo Pound.

Other new club activities for this year will include:

• Kick-off group ride and BBQ.
• Club Century ride – 100 km or 100 miles and a shorter option. Social to share in the glory to follow.
• Club Enduro-style event at Buffalo Pound with a social to follow.

Details of all these activities will be announced at later time.  You will need to be a member of the Moose Jaw Pavers to participate in these great club only events.  If you haven’t registered it can be done easily at https://moosejawpavers.ca/join-the-pavers/.

The Pavers will be organizing and hosting the following races this year:

• Moose Jaw Spring Classic – May 14 (Hill Climb TT and Criterium), May 15 – Road race
• SaskCup MTB Provincials @ Buffalo Pound – August 21, 2016.

During the planning of upcoming activities, the executive has also had significant discussion around the Subsidy Program.  The decision was made to discontinue the program and put the funds into having high quality club events, continue to host outstanding provincial races and look for opportunities to grow grass roots level cycling participation locally (such as the Learn2MTB program).
