TNR 2014-48

THURSDAY December 4, 2014
Starting from DQ on Caribou St between 4th & 5th Avenue NW
6:15 start

Except for one beautiful, hot, sunny day in August (I may have slipped into a parallel universe where bicycles don’t exist), last week was only the second time in 2014 where I rode alone.
My “regular” attendee has been deported back to Winnipeg, so I am looking for more cyclists to join me on our winter adventure.
Surface conditions are fantastic, potholes have been filled with snow, and vehicles have packed it down to make it smooth and fast.
Weather conditions are also excellent. If you dress properly.
Dress your lower body for the temperature, I recommend two layers, a base for warmth, an outer layer to block the elements.
Dress your upper body for the wind chill, I recommend two to three layers depending on your tolerance for cold.
A base layer, a mid-layer for warmth, an outer layer to protect from wind and snow.
Wear mitts and warm socks, put something on your head, and cover your face.

The ride will follow the usual 2014 “winter” route on some of the finest back alleys this side of the Mississippi.

Lights are a necessity.

Put some air in your tires and bring something to drink.

Sunset is 5:00
Civil Twilight ends at 5:38
Nautical Twilight ends at 6:20

See you on the trails,
Bob
